Park and Pool Updates

July 03, 2025

We have been working hard at our Village park and pool this season. Thank you to everyone who has had a part in this! We have had countless hours of volunteer time from community members to help with clean up, installation of equipment, painting and fundraising. Over $2500 in local donations have been received for the swimming pool and over $200 in for the park equipment! We received $10,000 from the Hansen Foundation and $38,022 from the Stratton Community Foundation for the playground equipment. And an additional $7000 from the Stratton Community Foundation for the swimming pool. Having this much support means the world of difference to those who utilize our park and pool. The children have been enjoying the play set and everyone has greatly enjoyed the updates at the swimming pool! I think our adult swim hour has been the most active in all my years of being involved at the pool! Pickleball nets were purchased last fall and a group has been regularly playing on Monday evenings. Feel free to join them at 6:30, all skill levels welcome! A huge thank you to Andrew's Landscaping from Benkelman for making sure the grass is being properly maintained. One of our current board members, Paul Bohochik helped out by installing the playground equipment at over half the original quoted cost. And we can't forget our Utility Department employees, Mike and Clyde, for ensuring everything is running properly, even on their time off. It has been amazing to see everyone step up and work as a group to make this happen!

And we're not done yet! We hope to continue to see things happening at the park. We have the area where the old play equipment sat that we would love to hear your ideas on. Replant grass? Sand volleyball? Horseshoe pit? Additional picnic area? Feel free to keep those donations, support and ideas coming in as we plan more! And don't forget to stop by and check things out and enjoy the park yourself!
